Movement in Colour, Form and Symbols is a piece that manifests different colours (light and dark), forms (the essence of timbre), and symbolism on the saxophone that could be manipulated through a spatial audio system.
I wanted the residency to be a time to deeply reflect on music through the saxophone and explore how it responds in a new spatial space. Taking inspiration from folklore, choral music, and club culture, Movement in Colour, Form, and Symbols will allow me to queer the mythologies of the saxophone and provide a new perspective on possibilities of what the instrument might be for me.
Following the residency, I also had the opportunity to perform live at the 2025 Spatial sound festival as well as presenting a lecture on live music and electronic processing.
